For the first time, the Regatta Steering Committee will be partnering with both Jagathon and VIDA to put on the event “Battleships and Water Games” on Tuesday September 17th at 8:00 PM in the IUPUI Natatorium.
Battleships, a Jagathon event held in conjunction with Regatta Week, is a wet and fun team challenge where teams combine skill, balance, creativity, and school pride into an all-out water fight in the IU Natatorium. Teams will use buckets and other water throwing and blocking devices to sink an opposing team’s canoes while remaining afloat to be crowned the IUPUI Intramural Battleships Champion. Teams will consist of 3 people per-canoe and an alternate with a goal of sinking the other team’s canoes while staying afloat themselves.
Tug of war, previously run by Regatta and now by Jagathon, is an event that has a creative spin on traditional tug of war. Teams will consist of 2 people per-canoe. Two teams will go head to head and try to paddle each other’s connected canoes over a designated middle line.
Additionally, VIDA Health Partnerships will be hosting a variety of activities in the breezeway area overlooking the natatorium. These activities include a limbo competition, flamingo ring toss, cornhole, a Riley Hospital craft activity, concessions, and much more!
Registration for Battleships and Water Games one flat-rate fee of $60/team, which pays for all water competitions. All proceeds benefit Riley Hospital for Children.
