Whether you’re cheering on a roommate, friend, or loved one, the Regatta is a spectator’s dream.

And downtown Indy has plenty to offer outside of the Regatta, if you’re coming in from out of town!

Frequently Asked Questions

This event takes place in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. The race will take place between the Indiana State Museum and Military Park, with the start being at Blackford Street and the exchange point in the Ohio Street Basin. The Regatta festival will be in Military Park.

The Regatta is a rain-or-shine event.  The race will continue if it is raining.  In the case of severe weather during the event, the race will be delayed to allow for the weather to pass.  Stay informed about any race delays or changes to the festival through our social media. @IUPUIRegatta

While there are no ATMs on site, the nearest ATM is in the lobby of the Indiana State Museum across from the gift shop.

Visit the Paddlers & Teams page on this website the week of the event to find out the wave number and time of the team you are supporting. Teams racing will be announced during the event. 

Yes, you can be a spectator and root for your team! For the health and safety of all, only individuals who have pre-registered and signed a waiver can get into a canoe. Spectators are not permitted to assist the canoes from the edge of the canal in any way, or the team being assisted will risk being disqualified. However, there are plenty of other fun ways to get involved at Regatta!

Parking is available on the IUPUI campus in multiple locations. There are surface lots located on W. New York St. just across the street from Military Park and near the Herron School of Art and Design. Parking will also be available in the Riverwalk Garage located at 245 University Blvd., Indianapolis, IN 46202. The IUPUI Sports Garage will also be open for guest parking located Between W. New York St. and University Blvd. Watch our Facebook page for more information on parking.
